Sleeping Beauty

We have been blessed with a baby who REALLY loves her sleep. This has been wonderful as David and I love our sleep too. From the day she was born one of my favorite things has been our occasional weekend naps together. I love snuggling with her and I love to watch her as she is sleeping. She is looks so beautiful and peaceful and I look at her and can hardly believe she is ours. She can sleep through about anything and I have taken many sleeping pictures since her birth and thought they were too cute to not share.

The Cutest of All the Dolls

Whitney has a old chest in her room in the dormer area that holds all of her stuffed animals and dolls. Recently this has become one of her new favorite spots. She wakes up in the morning or wakes up from a nap and she wants to sit on the chest with all of the dolls. She can look out the window and play with all the animals. It was a picture opportunity too great to pass up-I think she is the cutest of all the dolls!

I'm A Big Kid Now

For Whitneys birthday she received two brand new big girl carseats-one from David and I and one from her Grandpa Tucker. She had just gotten too big for the rear facing seat and it was time to move up to the big seat and face forward. We took her for her first ride (just around the block and for the sake of a first picture) and she smiled and clapped the whole time. It has to be great to have more room!

Turning One Was Fun

Whitney turned a year old on March 27th and all I can say was that was the fastest year of my life! Her actual birthday fell on a Thursday. Ms. Karen threw Whitney a Tinkerbell party with all of her friends at Humble-Beginnings. She had her first cake and had a great time. That weekend, on Saturday, we celebrated with family and a few friends in the neighborhood. The theme was "Jungle Buddies" and we decorated the house with a bunch of balloons, streamers and posters (of which I drew all by myself). We served lunch to all of Whitney's guests and then enjoyed some cake. Whitney got her own small version of the big cake. I think in the end she ate more icing than cake. Whitney was a great party girl. The party started at noon and lasted until the birthday girl crashed out. Her morning nap never came to fruition and she still managed to stay awake until 3:30pm. She got a ton of great gifts, my personal favorite being the hand painted tea table and chairs from her Aunt Jennifer. All of the gifts were wonderful but this was a gift packed with a lot of hard work and boy does it show-check out this awesome table in the picture-it is truly a work of art!

We look forward to MANY more fun birthdays!!

Easter Day

This was Whitney's second Easter to celebrate. Her first Easter she was a week old and the whole thing is kind of a blur. This Easter was a lot of fun. We had brunch with Georgie and Granddad and ended the day with dinner at Grandmas house. Whitney got to visit with the bunny after brunch and she was fascinated. She wanted to pull on his tounge and hug him like she does with her little stuffed animals at home. It was a great day to spend with family.

Snowy Day

Maddie was having a great time-I think she was the only one who could have stayed in the snow all day long!

It doesn't happen very often but when it does you have to take full advantage. It snowed in Lexington and there was TRUE accumulation. It wasn't the type of snowfall you might see in Detroit, Cleveland or Chicago but it was enough to make some snow fun. Friday night (March 14th) Aunt Jennifer came over to the house for a sleepover. A LARGE snowfall was predicted and we had been waiting for a good snow for a long time. By Saturday morning there was approximately 5 inches on the ground and we were ready for this Snowy Day. I had bought Whitney this very cheap snow suit for a trip to Michigan in February (where she got to see her first snowfall)-and we were actually able to use it again here at home. Jennifer, Whitney, Maddie and I all headed to the end of the street and took full advantage of the snow. It was VERY cold and we only lasted 15 minutes-however it was a great time. She was so bundled up that she couldn't really move around but I think she had fun-I know Jennifer, Maddie and I did!!
