A co-worker sent me this email today and it hit me-I need to stop being negative so often. Days are short and I complain about not being able to get it all done-who cares!! I just loved this email and thought I needed to share with any of my blog readers out there. In addition, it is Friday and who doesn't love a Friday. Positive thinking for a good day!!


How To Stay Young-by George Carlin

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them".

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop" And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.


AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Princess Jasmine

Another great photo by Ms. Karen!! I am a procrastinator to fault. Anyone that has known me for a good length of time knows pretty much everything I do is at the last minute. The procrastination has obviously gotten worse since having a child. How many times have I said there is just not enough time in the day. Ms. Karen is the exact opposite. She is a serious planner and in addition to having Halloween planned out for the kids before July, I would also guess she is more than half way finished with her Christmas shopping. This kind of planning is amazing and I don't know how she gets it all done. Anyhow-as I said-she has already planned Halloween and the theme this year will be Arabian Nights. The girls will be Arabian Princesses (Harem Dancers-lol) and the boys will be Arabian Princes (Sultans/Sheiks). She has ordered all of the costumes and the girls outfits have already arrived (I am guessing this week). Karen sent some photos for a preview and Whitney's was hilarious. She looks like such a big girl in the picture. Even compared to the one year birthday pictures. I am amazed by Whitney's growth every day. Just wanted to share a little preview of the upcoming Halloween-it is sure to be a hit at Humble-Beginnings.

Memorial Day was a month ago and I am just now getting around to this update. Lesa Lipsey made it to Kentucky for a visit with her family and made a special trip to the house. Lesa worked with me at State Farm about 4 1/2 year ago (wow-can't believe it has been that long) and I haven't seen her since her wedding (about 3 1/2 years ago-I believe). Lesa had a baby (Madison) a few months after Whitney was born and this was the girls first time meeting. The girls had a blast and it was so great to catch up with Lesa. As an added bonus, my best friend Abby from high school stopped by with her daughter Grace (who was about 3 months at the time). It was a fun filled Saturday afternoon with all of our new babies.

Beep Beep

This was too funny to not post. Ms. Karen took this picture of Whitney in the car at Humble-Beginnings. From what she says, this car is a crowd favorite (or at least the blue key to "start" the darn thing). Whitney seems to have taken quite a liking to this hot rod. The scariest part about this picture is that she looks very comfortable behind the wheel. Fifteen years can go by very quickly-from what I hear anyway-and she will be driving away. Watch out-here she comes!!

One Fast Month

I realize it has now been over a month since my last blog. In just one month Whitney has really been developing her personality. She is not a baby any longer, rather she is a VERY active little toddler. A few weeks ago we made a visit to the talking tree at Howard Curry and picked up two pairs of big girl shoes-some sandals and some tennis shoes. It is as if the new shoes have given her a superpower and she zooms around just creating one mess after another-we refer to her as our little tornado.

She loves hats and sunglasses and bows, pretty much anything that makes David and I say "You are SO cool". She loves to read books and wants us to read the same stories 20 times in a row; then she will take a small break only to pick out another book for more reading pleasure. She has really taken to her babies and rushes to the babies first thing in the morning. She loves riding in her wagon. She bosses Maddie around demanding her to "sit" and "stay". Everyday is a new adventure with Whitney and it couldn't be more fun.

Sleeping Beauty

We have been blessed with a baby who REALLY loves her sleep. This has been wonderful as David and I love our sleep too. From the day she was born one of my favorite things has been our occasional weekend naps together. I love snuggling with her and I love to watch her as she is sleeping. She is looks so beautiful and peaceful and I look at her and can hardly believe she is ours. She can sleep through about anything and I have taken many sleeping pictures since her birth and thought they were too cute to not share.

The Cutest of All the Dolls

Whitney has a old chest in her room in the dormer area that holds all of her stuffed animals and dolls. Recently this has become one of her new favorite spots. She wakes up in the morning or wakes up from a nap and she wants to sit on the chest with all of the dolls. She can look out the window and play with all the animals. It was a picture opportunity too great to pass up-I think she is the cutest of all the dolls!
